training
methods
highly
recommended
Thomas's training and
teaching methods come highly recommended by such notable people such
as; Dr. Richard Cox. (C.Psychol AFBPS lecturer in psychology), Dr.
Malcolm Fairweather (Sports scientist lecturer in skill acquisition)
who thought the methods were ahead of their time 11 years ago...
quotes
Dr. Richard
Cox - After watching a
demonstration of Chum Sut Wing Tzun I was most impressed by the fact
that the skills required had certain features build in which many
other activities have to add on to their training. For instance the
skills involved in Visualisation & Differential Relaxation were
clearly demonstrated as were other such skills as Kinesthesis and
Auditium.
The Degree of
physical fitness to execute many othe the routines was also very
impressive. As a form of self-defence combined with attack this
particular form of martial art is unique and obviously superior to
many others.
Dr. Malcolm
Fairweather - Every so often
I observe coaches and/or athletes who via their practice seem to
express a natural insight into skilled theory and
research when addressing their own skill learning issues. One
coach who exlemplifiesthis intuitive understanding is Si-fu
Thomas Lamont.
Thomas employes a
variety of instructional methods that are most impressive. Watching
him teach I observed the development of autonomy in the
individuals he was teaching.
Thomas appeared to be tapping into
systems of development that research and theory have only just
acknowledged, his teaching and training reflected the most recent
thinking in the skill learning areas.
Thomas Lamont
- Chum Sut literally means
'Seek Truth' and the ultimate truth in any form of martial art or
training is does it work, does it do the job it was designed for
whether in competition or in a self-defence situation.
Chum Sut
however is also a very personal experience and each student will be
seeking their own truth through the various martial arts taught at
the academy (place of learning).
The Chum Sut
training has be designed to maximise the scientific performance
variables taught to the student while encouraging and developing
their integrity and flair. This allows the dedicated student to
maximise their potential during performances in the applied areas of
self-defence or competition.
Great care and attention has been paid
to detail concerning the education of the student who will gain
specific knowledge as to their performance teaching them both the
'Art and Science of Combat' as they progress through the system.
